Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Obtain patient histories, record vital signs, and prepare patients for examinations.
- Clinical Procedures: Assist providers with minor procedures, administer medications as directed, and perform basic laboratory tests (e.g., urine analysis, blood draws).
- Administrative Support: Manage patient check-in/check-out processes, verify insurance information, and maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR).
- Coordination: Schedule appointments and coordinate referrals to specialists.
- Communication: Act as a liaison between patients, physicians, and other hospital staff.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) certification required.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in electronic medical records (EHR) systems and strong computer literacy.
