Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care across diverse medical-surgical units using evidence-based nursing practices
- Administer medications and treatments with precision while monitoring patient responses
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Document clinical observations accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Provide patient and family education on health management and discharge planning
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA regulations and hospital safety protocols
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and peer review processes
Qualifications
- Active California RN license (BRN) required
- BSN degree preferred (ADN candidates with 2+ years experience considered)
- Minimum 2 years acute care experience in medical-surgical or critical care setting
- BLS and ACLS certifications (PALS required for pediatric units)
- Proficiency in Epic EHR system and medical documentation software
- Strong critical thinking skills with ability to handle high-acuity cases
- Excellent communication skills and cultural competency in diverse populations
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
