Responsibilities
- Patient Intake: Greet patients warmly, verify demographics and insurance information, and escort them to examination rooms.
- Vital Signs: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, respiration rate, and temperature.
- Clinical Support: Prepare patients for examinations by assisting with changing, positioning, and collecting specimens.
- Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate medical records, file charts, and manage incoming calls and messages efficiently.
- Lab Procedures: Perform basic lab tests, such as urine analysis or blood draws, and prepare samples for analysis.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure examination rooms are clean, stocked, and sanitized according to health and safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Certification: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program (CMA, RMA, or NCMA preferred).
- Experience: 1+ years of experience in a clinical or medical office setting is preferred.
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certification from the American Heart Association is required.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth) is highly desirable.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a professional demeanor.
- Compassion: Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine passion for providing high-quality patient care.
