Responsibilities
- Patient Intake & Assessment: Greet patients, verify insurance information, and accurately record vital signs and medical history.
- Clinical Support: Assist physicians and nurse practitioners with patient examinations, procedures, and minor office surgeries.
- Lab & Diagnostics: Perform and process basic laboratory tests, including phlebotomy, and prepare specimens for analysis.
- Medication Management: Administer medications under physician supervision and accurately document doses and patient reactions.
- Documentation: Maintain and update Electronic Health Records (EHR) with precision and confidentiality.
- Patient Education: Provide clear instructions on treatment plans, medications, and preventative care to patients and families.
- Front Office Support: Manage phone inquiries, schedule appointments, and coordinate referrals as needed.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current CMA (Certified Medical Assistant), RMA (Registered Medical Assistant), or NCMA certification.
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a medical setting preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and medical software.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient-centered approach.
- Compassion: Demonstrated ability to interact empathetically with patients of all backgrounds.
- Reliability: Strong organizational skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
