Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough patient assessments, including taking vital signs, weight, and height, and reporting findings to the supervising nurse or physician.
- Clinical Support: Assist with wound care, catheter changes, and basic medical procedures as directed by the nurse or doctor.
- Medication Management: Assist with medication reminders and documentation, ensuring compliance with patient care plans.
- Personal Care: Provide personal care assistance such as bathing, grooming, and dressing to help patients maintain their dignity and hygiene.
- Household Tasks: Perform light housekeeping duties related to patient care, such as meal preparation and laundry.
- Communication: Act as a liaison between the patient, family, and healthcare team, providing updates on patient status and needs.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant or CNA program is preferred.
- Certification: Current state certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is required.
- Licensure: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and CPR certification through the American Heart Association.
- Experience: Previous experience in home health care or a clinical setting is highly desirable.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal communication skills, empathy, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
