Responsibilities
- Perform patient vitals, intake screenings, and prepare patients for examinations.
- Assist healthcare providers during exams and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) accurately, including updating patient history and medications.
- Perform basic laboratory duties such as blood draws, urinalysis, and EKGs as required.
- Handle front desk duties including scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, and answering incoming calls.
- Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized clinical environment.
- Provide patient education and discharge instructions to ensure continuity of care.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) is required.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association is mandatory.
- 1-2 years of experience in a clinical or medical office setting is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-centric approach.
- Proficiency in using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., AthenaHealth, Epic).
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced, urgent care environment.
- High school diploma or GED required.
