Responsibilities
- Perform patient intakes, including medical history reviews and accurate vital signs measurements.
- Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations and minor procedures.
- Prepare and sterilize medical instruments and equipment to ensure safety standards.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, EKGs, and administer injections as directed.
- Manage patient records and ensure strict adherence to HIPAA compliance.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area for patients.
- Communicate effectively with patients to ensure comfort and understanding of procedures.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- 1-2 years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth).
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
