Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations, take vital signs, and document medical histories accurately
- Assist physicians with clinical procedures, including injections, wound care, and EKGs
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems and maintain patient confidentiality
- Coordinate patient flow, schedule appointments, and handle administrative tasks
- Perform phlebotomy, collect specimens, and process lab orders
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and medication instructions
- Stock exam rooms, manage inventory, and ensure sterile environments
- Collaborate with healthcare team to optimize patient care delivery
Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA)
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in ambulatory or hospital setting
- Current BLS/CPR certification and active DC medical assistant license
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic or NextGen preferred)
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask in high-pressure environments with attention to detail
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA compliance and medical terminology
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
