Responsibilities
- Take and accurately record patient vital signs and medical histories.
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist physicians during medical procedures.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by licensed providers.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, such as urinalysis and EKGs, and prepare specimens.
- Maintain and update patient medical records in our Electronic Health Records (EHR) system.
- Coordinate patient follow-up appointments and manage referrals to specialists.
- Ensure examination rooms are clean, stocked, and sanitized according to infection control protocols.
- Handle front desk duties, including answering phones, scheduling appointments, and processing insurance verifications.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- High School Diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a physician’s office or clinic setting.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while maintaining accuracy.
- Proficient in using electronic medical records (EMR) and practice management software.
