Responsibilities
- Perform patient intake, including medical history reviews and vital sign measurements (blood pressure, temperature, pulse).
- Assist physicians and advanced practice providers during examinations and minor procedures.
- Prepare and administer medications as directed and monitor patients for adverse reactions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Ensure compliance with all HIPAA regulations, safety protocols, and infection control standards.
- Coordinate patient follow-up appointments and manage incoming communications professionally.
- Prepare examination rooms for patient visits, ensuring all supplies and equipment are sanitized and ready.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, NCMA, or equivalent) is required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Previous experience in a clinical or outpatient setting is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff.
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a high-volume environment while maintaining accuracy.
- Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) software is highly desired.
