Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Assist providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments in a professional and compassionate manner.
- Vitals & Procedures: Accurately measure and record vital signs, perform EKGs, draw blood (phlebotomy), and assist with minor medical procedures.
- Administrative Support: Manage patient intake, update electronic health records (EHR) systems, and ensure accurate documentation.
- Communication: Act as a liaison between patients and medical staff, answering questions and scheduling follow-up appointments.
- Infection Control: Adhere strictly to hygiene protocols, OSHA standards, and safety regulations to maintain a sterile environment.
- Inventory: Monitor and restock medical supplies and exam rooms to ensure readiness for daily operations.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a medical office setting preferred.
- Licensure: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS certification is mandatory.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) software (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth) is a plus.
- Interpersonal: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on patient confidentiality (HIPAA compliance).
- Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a busy environment.
