Responsibilities
- Patient Preparation: Greet patients, verify information, and prepare them for examination by the provider.
- Vital Signs: Accurately measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, and weight.
- Procedures: Assist with minor medical procedures, administer injections as directed, and perform EKGs.
- Lab Work: Collect and prepare blood or other samples for laboratory analysis.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and electronic health records (EHR).
- Room Preparation: Clean and sterilize medical equipment and exam rooms between patients.
- Coordination: Schedule follow-up appointments and coordinate referrals to specialists.
Qualifications
- Certification: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program; current CMA or RMA certification preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a healthcare setting.
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Skills: Strong computer skills and proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with patients and staff.
- Compliance: Ability to maintain strict patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
