Responsibilities
- Perform accurate vital sign measurements (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiration) and EKGs.
- Prepare examination rooms and medical equipment for patient visits.
- Assist providers during physical exams and minor procedures.
- Manage patient intake, including verifying insurance and updating electronic health records (EHR).
- Perform phlebotomy and process lab specimens according to strict safety protocols.
- Coordinate follow-up appointments and prescription refills for patients.
- Maintain a clean, sterile, and organized clinic environment.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a physician’s office or clinic setting.
- Proficiency in using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting patients or equipment.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
