Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations, take vital signs, and assist providers during procedures
- Administer injections, perform EKGs, and collect laboratory specimens
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) and patient charts
- Schedule appointments, manage inventory, and ensure exam rooms are stocked
- Provide patient education on medications, treatments, and preventive care
- Assist with billing and insurance verification processes
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient flow
Qualifications
- Active Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or CCMA)
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in outpatient or hospital setting
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic or experience with similar platforms)
- BLS certification from AHA or equivalent organization
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA compliance
- Excellent communication skills and ability to multitask in high-pressure situations
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to work flexible hours including occasional weekends
