Responsibilities
- Assist physicians with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments
- Perform vital sign measurements, EKGs, and point-of-care testing
- Administer medications and immunizations per physician protocols
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems for documentation
- Schedule appointments and coordinate patient flow
- Prepare exam rooms and sterilize medical instruments
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
Qualifications
- Accredited Medical Assistant certificate or associate degree
- Current Louisiana Medical Assistant certification
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in ambulatory setting
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic/EMR preferred)
- BLS/CPR certification
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA compliance protocols
- Exceptional communication and multitasking abilities
