Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during clinical procedures
- Accurately measure vital signs and document patient information in EHR systems
- Administer injections, medications, and perform phlebotomy under physician supervision
- Sterilize equipment and maintain exam rooms in compliance with OSHA standards
- Coordinate patient flow, schedule appointments, and manage front desk operations
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and medication protocols
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care delivery
Qualifications
- Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or CCMA)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in ambulatory care setting
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic or Athenahealth preferred)
- New York State Medical Assistant license in good standing
- BLS/CPR certification with valid AHA provider card
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to multitask effectively
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and medical documentation standards
- Associate's degree in Medical Assisting or related field required
