Responsibilities
- Assist physicians with clinical procedures, including patient preparation and equipment sterilization
- Perform vital sign checks, EKGs, and phlebotomy with precision and patient care
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems ensuring HIPAA compliance and accuracy
- Coordinate patient flow, scheduling, and communication between departments
- Administer medications, injections, and wound care under provider supervision
- Prepare exam rooms, sterilize instruments, and maintain inventory of medical supplies
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care measures
Qualifications
- Active MA certification (CMA, RMA, or CCMA) required
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in a medical or urgent care setting
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic or NextGen preferred)
- BLS/CPR certification and phlebotomy skills essential
- Strong communication skills with ability to multitask in fast-paced environments
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical terminology
- Associate degree or certificate in Medical Assisting required
