Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during medical procedures
- Perform vital signs, EKGs, and point-of-care laboratory testing
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems with precision and HIPAA compliance
- Administer injections, vaccinations, and wound care under provider supervision
- Schedule appointments, handle insurance verification, and process billing forms
- Maintain sterile exam rooms and inventory of medical supplies
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
Qualifications
- Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or CCMA)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in ambulatory care setting
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic or Athena preferred)
- BLS/CPR certification (American Heart Association)
- Excellent phlebotomy and venipuncture skills
- Strong communication abilities with diverse patient populations
- Ability to multitask effectively in high-volume environment
- New York State medical assistant license (if applicable)
