Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations, including vital sign measurement and medical history documentation
- Assist physicians with clinical procedures, including EKGs, phlebotomy, and wound care
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems with precision and HIPAA compliance
- Administer medications and injections as directed by healthcare providers
- Schedule appointments, process insurance claims, and maintain organized patient files
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care measures
- Coordinate with laboratory services and specialty referrals efficiently
Qualifications
- Current and valid Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic or NextGen preferred)
- BLS/CPR certification from an accredited provider
- Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical workflows
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
- North Carolina CMA license in good standing
