Responsibilities
- Perform Clinical Duties: Accurately measure and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- Assist Providers: Prepare patients for examinations, assist physicians during procedures, and perform EKGs as required.
- Phlebotomy: Draw blood samples for laboratory testing and prepare specimens for analysis.
- Administrative Support: Manage patient check-ins, verify insurance information, and maintain accurate medical records.
- Room Preparation: Sanitize and prepare exam rooms, ensuring all medical equipment is functioning correctly.
- Patient Education: Provide clear instructions on medications, diets, and follow-up care to patients.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current CMA (AAMA) or RMA (AMT) certification is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a medical office setting preferred.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Licensure: Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Skills: Proficient in electronic health records (EHR) systems and strong computer literacy.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills with a patient-first attitude.
