What You Will Do:
As a Medical Assistant at Coastal Health Partners, you will be the face of our clinic. You will work closely with our providers to ensure smooth operations and deliver high-quality care to our patients. Your role is vital in creating a welcoming and efficient environment for everyone who walks through our doors.
Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Greet patients, verify insurance information, and prepare them for examinations by taking vital signs and recording medical history.
- Clinical Support: Assist providers during examinations and procedures, including phlebotomy, EKGs, and administering injections/medications as directed.
- Administrative Duties: Manage electronic health records (EHR) accurately, schedule appointments, and handle patient correspondence.
- Room Preparation: Maintain clean and organized exam rooms, restocking supplies, and sterilizing equipment to ensure infection control standards.
- Patient Education: Provide patients with education on treatment plans, medications, and preventative care strategies.
- Collaboration: Communicate effectively with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient transitions and continuity of care.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) or completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association required.
- Skills: Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, Athenahealth) and computer literacy.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients and staff.
- Compassion: Strong patient-centered approach with a focus on empathy and detail-oriented care.
