Responsibilities
- Assist providers with clinical procedures including injections, wound care, and EKGs
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms, equipment, and supplies
- Accurately document patient encounters in EHR systems
- Perform vital sign checks, phlebotomy, and basic lab testing
- Schedule patient appointments and manage referral processes
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and maintain strict confidentiality
- Coordinate with pharmacists on medication reconciliation
Qualifications
- Active Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in outpatient setting
- Proficiency with EHR systems (Epic/Meditech preferred)
- BLS/CPR certification (maintain current)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication abilities in English
- Ability to work independently during weekend shifts
- Knowledge of DC healthcare regulations
