About the Role:
The Medical Assistant will assist providers with patient examinations, administer medications, and perform various clinical and administrative duties. You will be the face of our practice, ensuring a welcoming and efficient environment for every patient.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examination by reviewing medical history and recording vital signs.
- Assist providers during exams and procedures, including EKGs, phlebotomy, and injections.
- Perform basic laboratory tests and prepare samples for analysis.
- Manage patient intake, including updating electronic health records (EHR) accurately and efficiently.
- Administer medications and vaccines under the direct supervision of a licensed provider.
- Coordinate patient follow-up appointments and referrals.
- Maintain a clean and organized examination room, adhering to strict infection control protocols.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) by the AAMA or AMT.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a medical office or clinic setting.
- Strong proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-first approach.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance may be required for off-site visits.
