Job Overview
The Medical Assistant will be responsible for assisting providers with patient care, performing clinical procedures, and ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic during weekend hours.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient vitals, including blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, and weight.
- Prepare examination rooms and sterilize medical equipment for patient use.
- Assist providers with patient examinations, minor procedures, and injections.
- Perform basic laboratory tasks such as phlebotomy and EKGs.
- Manage patient flow, check-in/check-out procedures, and answer incoming calls.
- Administer medications and injections under the direct supervision of a licensed provider.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Medical Assistant Diploma required.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification through the American Heart Association.
- Previous experience in a clinical setting (1+ years preferred).
- Strong proficiency in EMR/EHR systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift patients or equipment as needed.
