Your Role:
As a Weekend Medical Assistant, you will be the first point of contact for our patients, ensuring their comfort and well-being while assisting our physicians in delivering top-tier medical services.
Responsibilities
- Perform accurate patient intake and vital sign assessments, including blood pressure, temperature, and weight monitoring.
- Assist providers during clinical examinations and minor procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Prepare examination rooms, sterilize equipment, and maintain strict infection control standards.
- Administer injections, immunizations, and perform phlebotomy procedures as required by state regulations.
- Manage and update electronic medical records (EMR) with precision and confidentiality.
- Communicate effectively with patients and coordinate follow-up appointments with the front office staff.
- Handle patient inquiries professionally and de-escalate situations with empathy.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent certification (RMA, MA) required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a healthcare setting.
- Must be available to work weekends (Saturday and Sunday) consistently.
- Strong computer literacy with experience in EMR systems (Epic, AthenaHealth, Cerner).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift patients or equipment as needed.
