Responsibilities
- Assist with Patient Care: Prepare examination rooms, sanitize equipment, and assist physicians during patient examinations and minor procedures.
- Administer Treatments: Accurately administer medications, injections, and perform basic diagnostic tests (EKG, phlebotomy) as directed by providers.
- Record Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records (EHR) and ensure all patient documentation is complete and compliant.
- Front Office Support: Greet patients, verify insurance, and manage patient check-in/check-out processes efficiently.
- Infection Control: Strictly adhere to OSHA and CDC guidelines to maintain a sterile and safe environment for all staff and visitors.
- Communication: Act as a liaison between patients and the medical team, answering questions and providing clear instructions.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) or completion of an accredited medical assisting program.
- Licensure: Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a medical setting.
- Availability: Must be available to work weekends, specifically Saturday and Sunday.
- Skills: Proficiency in EMR systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth) and strong computer literacy.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional interpersonal skills with a focus on patient empathy and professionalism.
