Job Summary:
The Medical Assistant will work closely with providers to deliver high-quality patient care during our weekend coverage hours. You will be the face of our clinic, ensuring our patients feel welcomed, comfortable, and well-cared for.
Responsibilities
- Perform patient intake and vitals (blood pressure, temperature, heart rate) accurately and efficiently.
- Assist providers with examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Prepare examination rooms, sterilize equipment, and maintain a clean, organized clinic environment.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by providers and in accordance with state regulations.
- Manage patient charts electronically, updating medical records with visit notes and lab results.
- Handle patient inquiries via phone or in-person, providing accurate information and referrals.
- Assist with phlebotomy and point-of-care testing as needed.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Current CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) certification required.
- Previous experience in a clinical setting is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner).
- Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Ability to work weekends (Saturday and Sunday) and holidays.
