Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient intake, vital signs monitoring, and medical history assessments.
- Assist providers during examinations, minor procedures, and therapeutic treatments.
- Prepare and administer medications, injections, and immunizations safely and accurately.
- Draw blood (phlebotomy) and collect lab specimens for timely analysis.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records (EHR) and documentation.
- Manage front desk operations, including patient scheduling, insurance verification, and check-in processes.
- Provide clear patient education and follow-up care instructions to ensure continuity of care.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) required.
- 1-2 years of clinical experience preferred, with prior weekend experience a plus.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS certifications required.
- Phlebotomy certification is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Ability to work weekends (Saturday and Sunday) on a rotating schedule.
- Proficient in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
