Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations, take vital signs, and document medical histories
- Assist physicians with clinical procedures and diagnostic tests
- Perform phlebotomy, EKG, and basic laboratory procedures
- Administer medications and treatments under provider supervision
- Maintain electronic health records (EHR) and ensure HIPAA compliance
- Manage appointment scheduling and patient correspondence
- Prepare exam rooms and sterilize medical equipment
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; Medical Assistant certification preferred
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in healthcare setting
- Proficiency in EHR systems and medical documentation
- Valid CPR certification and ability to maintain
- Strong knowledge of clinical procedures and medical terminology
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask in fast-paced environment
- New York State Medical Assistant license or willingness to obtain
