Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during clinical procedures
- Accurately document patient information and maintain electronic health records (EHR)
- Perform vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy, and basic laboratory tests
- Administer medications and injections under provider supervision
- Schedule appointments, manage patient flow, and handle phone triage
- Ensure exam rooms are stocked, sanitized, and ready for patient care
- Coordinate referrals and communicate effectively with healthcare team
Qualifications
- Active Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA)
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in a medical setting
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic or NextGen preferred)
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Valid Washington DC CPR/BLS certification
