Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations, including vital signs and medical history documentation
- Assist physicians during clinical procedures and diagnostic examinations
- Administer medications and injections under provider supervision
- Maintain accurate electronic health records and patient charts
- Sterilize equipment and maintain clean, organized exam rooms
- Coordinate patient scheduling and follow-up communications
- Process insurance claims and maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations
Qualifications
- Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in ambulatory care setting
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic/EMR preferred)
- BLS/CPR certification from American Heart Association
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask in fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
- North Carolina state medical assistant license
