Responsibilities
- Perform patient intake and obtain comprehensive medical histories accurately.
- Assist physicians and advanced practice providers during examinations and procedures.
- Measure and record vital signs, including blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, and weight.
- Prepare examination rooms with necessary instruments and equipment, ensuring a sterile environment.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by the provider, strictly adhering to safety protocols.
- Coordinate patient scheduling, referrals, and laboratory specimen collections.
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance at all times.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Medical Assisting preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a physician practice or clinic setting.
- Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth, Cerner).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients of all ages.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift patients or equipment as necessary.
