Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers with clinical procedures
- Administer injections, vaccinations, and medications under physician supervision
- Perform EKGs, vital sign checks, and basic lab tests
- Maintain accurate electronic health records and patient documentation
- Manage inventory of medical supplies and equipment
- Schedule appointments and handle patient communications
- Ensure strict compliance with HIPAA and OSHA regulations
Qualifications
- Active Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in ambulatory care
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Proficiency with EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Athenahealth)
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and clinical workflows
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- North Carolina MA license or eligibility
