Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Assist physicians and nurses with patient exams, taking vital signs, and recording medical histories.
- Administrative Duties: Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, schedule appointments, and maintain accurate medical records using EMR systems.
- Procedures: Perform basic laboratory tests, EKGs, and phlebotomy as required by state regulations and facility policy.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure high-quality care coordination.
- Hygiene & Safety: Adhere to strict infection control protocols and maintain a clean, safe environment for patients and staff.
- Inventory: Assist with ordering and stocking medical supplies and equipment.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) certification preferred.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program is a plus.
- Licensure: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification through the American Heart Association.
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a clinical or medical office setting preferred.
- Skills: Strong computer proficiency with EMR/EHR software and excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 lbs, and perform fine motor skills.
