Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare, label, and dispense prescription medications following all safety protocols
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, receiving, and tracking pharmaceutical supplies
- Process insurance claims and verify patient eligibility with exceptional attention to detail
- Provide outstanding customer service while educating patients on medication usage and side effects
- Maintain strict compliance with pharmacy laws, regulations, and HIPAA guidelines
- Collaborate with pharmacists to ensure optimal patient care outcomes
- Utilize pharmacy software systems for prescription processing and record-keeping
Qualifications
- Active Pharmacy Technician license in the state of California
- Minimum 1 year of retail or hospital pharmacy experience preferred
- Certification through PTCB or ExCPT (or willingness to obtain within 90 days)
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., QS1, Rx30)
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in medication handling
- Strong communication skills with ability to explain complex information clearly
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
- Background check and drug screening required
