Responsibilities
- Perform patient intake, verify insurance information, and prepare examination rooms with necessary supplies and equipment.
- Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and symptoms accurately.
- Assist physicians and nurses during examinations, procedures, and treatments.
- Prepare and administer medications as directed by healthcare providers, strictly following safety protocols.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, EKGs, and draw blood samples (phlebotomy) when necessary.
- Manage Electronic Health Records (EHR) efficiently, ensuring data integrity and maintaining strict patient confidentiality (HIPAA compliance).
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Certification as a CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) is preferred.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and/or ACLS certification required.
- Previous experience in a clinical setting within Los Angeles is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
