Responsibilities
- Prepare examination rooms for patient visits, ensuring all instruments and supplies are sterilized and ready.
- Assist physicians and healthcare providers during examinations and procedures.
- Take and record vital signs, including blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, and weight.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, such as urine analysis, and prepare samples for collection.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by the provider and in accordance with state regulations.
- Greet patients, verify demographics, and update electronic health records (EHR) accurately.
- Provide patient education regarding medications, diets, and post-procedure care instructions.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credential required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Previous experience in a clinical setting preferred but not mandatory for high-energy candidates.
- Strong computer proficiency with EHR systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth) is a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient satisfaction.
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced medical environment.
- Strong attention to detail and adherence to HIPAA compliance standards.
