Responsibilities
- Assist physicians with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring proper sterilization and equipment functionality
- Accurately document patient medical histories, vital signs, and treatment plans
- Administer medications and injections under physician supervision
- Perform basic laboratory tests and EKG procedures
- Schedule patient appointments and handle insurance verification
- Maintain strict HIPAA compliance and confidentiality standards
Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent experience
- Current CPR certification
- Texas Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA preferred)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in ambulatory care setting
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems (Epic experience a plus)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
