Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during patient examinations and procedures.
- Vital Signs: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, weight, height).
- Administrative Duties: Manage patient check-in/check-out processes, update electronic health records (EHR), and schedule appointments.
- Preparation: Prepare examination rooms with necessary medical instruments and ensure a sterile environment.
- Lab Work: Collect and process laboratory specimens, including blood draws and urinalysis.
- Communication: Effectively communicate test results and treatment plans to patients and families.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) certification preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a physician's office or clinic setting.
- Licensure: Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS certifications required.
- Skills: Proficiency in electronic health record systems (Epic, Athenahealth, or similar).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient-first approach.
- San Diego Requirement: Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
