Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examination by assisting with draping, positioning, and preparing examination rooms with necessary instruments and supplies.
- Record patient medical histories, vital signs, and symptoms into electronic health records (EHR) accurately and confidentially.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, administer medications as directed by providers, and perform phlebotomy duties.
- Greet patients, verify insurance information, and schedule follow-up appointments to ensure a smooth patient experience.
- Assist providers during examinations and procedures, anticipating their needs and maintaining a sterile environment.
- Provide patient education on preventive care, medications, and lifestyle modifications.
- Manage inventory of medical supplies and notify management of low stock or equipment needs.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- High school diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program is a plus.
- 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Proficiency in using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with occasional multi-tasking requirements.
