Responsibilities
- Perform routine medical examinations and accurately measure vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature).
- Prepare patients for examinations by assisting with attire and positioning, and interviewing patients about their medical history.
- Assist providers during clinical procedures, including phlebotomy and EKG administration.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by physicians and following strict safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Instruct patients on post-procedure care, medications, and follow-up appointments.
- Manage front desk reception duties, including answering phones, scheduling appointments, and processing insurance verification.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) preferred; state licensure required where applicable.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and CPR certification.
- Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, Athenahealth) is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient privacy and comfort.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays if required.
