Responsibilities
- Process and submit medical claims to insurance companies and government payers
- Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits eligibility
- Assign appropriate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes for procedures
- Investigate and resolve claim denials and billing discrepancies
- Maintain accurate patient billing records in EHR systems
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and regulatory adherence
- Collaborate with clinical staff to resolve billing issues
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience
- Proficiency in ICD-10 and CPT coding systems
- Experience with medical billing software (e.g., Epic, Cerner)
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) credential preferred
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA and healthcare regulations
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills
