Responsibilities
- Process and submit clean claims to insurance companies and government payers
- Verify patient eligibility and benefits before service delivery
- Resolve claim denials and payment discrepancies through appeals
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and payer regulations
- Collaborate with clinical teams to document accurate coding
- Generate monthly reports on key revenue cycle metrics
- Utilize Epic EMR and encoder software for coding accuracy
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a hospital/clinic setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
- Expert knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding systems
- Proficiency in medical billing software (Epic, Medisoft, or similar)
- Strong analytical skills for claim resolution
- Excellent communication abilities for payer negotiations
- Associates degree in Health Information Management preferred
