Responsibilities
- Process and submit medical claims to insurance payers with 99% accuracy
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits for all services
- Resolve claim denials and rejections within established SLAs
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and payer regulations
- Analyze accounts receivable and identify process improvement opportunities
- Collaborate with clinical teams to document services accurately
- Utilize Epic EHR and NextGen billing systems for daily operations
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a hospital or clinic setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC credential required
- Expertise in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
- Proficient in medical billing software (Epic/NextGen preferred)
- Strong analytical skills with attention to financial details
- Excellent communication for resolving payer/patient inquiries
- Ability to manage high-volume claims with competing deadlines
- Knowledge of Minnesota healthcare regulations and payer contracts
