Responsibilities
- Process and submit accurate medical claims to insurance carriers and government payers
- Verify patient eligibility, benefits, and pre-authorizations for all services
- Conduct thorough follow-up on denied or unpaid claims within 30 days
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and state billing regulations
- Reconcile accounts receivable reports and resolve billing discrepancies
- Train staff on billing software updates and coding best practices
- Generate monthly financial reports for department leadership review
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a multi-specialty clinic setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
- Expert knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding systems
- Proficiency in Epic, Medisoft, or NextGen billing platforms
- Strong analytical skills with attention to numerical detail
