Responsibilities
- Process and submit clean claims to insurance payers (Medicare, Medicaid, commercial plans)
- Verify patient eligibility and benefits prior to service delivery
- Manage denial resolution and appeals with insurance companies
- Conduct thorough account receivables follow-up and aging analysis
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and state billing regulations
- Collaborate with clinical teams to resolve coding discrepancies
- Generate monthly revenue reports for department leadership
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience with Hawaii insurance payers
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
- Expertise in CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding systems
- Proficiency in Epic, Athena, or NextGen EHR platforms
- Strong analytical skills for complex claim adjudication
- Exceptional communication for patient and insurer interactions
- Associate degree in Health Information Management preferred
