Responsibilities
- Accurately process and submit medical claims to insurance providers and government payers
- Verify patient eligibility and benefits coverage prior to service delivery
- Resolve claim denials and billing discrepancies through systematic follow-up
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and industry coding standards
- Generate monthly reports on billing performance and collection metrics
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure documentation supports accurate billing
- Utilize Epic and NextGen EHR systems for efficient claims management
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience with commercial and government payers
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC credential required
- Expert knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding systems
- Proficiency in medical billing software (Epic, NextGen, or similar)
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently while collaborating in team settings
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Associate's degree in healthcare administration or related field
