Responsibilities
- Accurately process and submit medical claims to insurance companies and government payers
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits before service delivery
- Resolve claim denials and rejections through timely follow-up and appeals
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and industry coding standards
- Conduct regular account reconciliations and report on billing metrics
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure accurate documentation
- Utilize billing software (Epic/NextGen) to manage accounts receivable
- Stay updated on evolving healthcare billing regulations and payer policies
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification preferred
- Proficiency in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
- Strong knowledge of insurance claim processes and payer requirements
- Experience with electronic health record systems (Epic/NextGen/Meditech)
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication skills for patient and insurer interactions
