Responsibilities
- Accurately code and submit medical claims to insurance companies following CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS guidelines
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to service delivery
- Manage accounts receivable through follow-up on denied/incomplete claims
- Process patient billing statements and manage payment collections
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and industry billing standards
- Collaborate with clinical staff to resolve billing discrepancies
- Utilize Epic EHR and Medisoft systems for billing operations
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
- Proficiency in medical coding systems (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS)
- Strong knowledge of insurance claim processes and reimbursement methodologies
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Experience with EHR systems (Epic preferred)
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
