Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile fields
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile environments
- Manage surgical instruments and supplies before, during, and after operations
- Apply sterile dressings and monitor patient vital signs in post-op care
- Adhere to OSHA and facility safety protocols for infection control
- Document surgical procedures accurately in electronic health records
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless patient transitions
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- 1+ years of experience in acute care surgical setting preferred
- Current BLS/CPR certification from recognized provider
- Knowledge of sterile processing and surgical instrument handling
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed
- Ohio Surgical Technologist license (if applicable)
